Hi all,
Just a note to introduce myself. My username is my real name - just add a space between the Alan and the Stubbs.
I am a purely pleasure angler, but admit to thinking a lot about what I am doing. I am just as happy carp fishing as I am for silver fish and tench, but love using my centrepin on rivers and streams. I also really enjoy fishing for mullet from piers.
I have only been fishing for around 5 years but have been lucky to have had some great teachers, to the point where I get true pleasure from being able to help others who are new to the sport.

I am really looking forward to the teach-in. My girlfriend has an 8 year old who is keen to learn - but it's a little like teaching family to drive....
We were at Pennington Flash in Leigh on Sunday - the idea was that the girls were going to make the most of the country park but it didn't work out that way! They realised that the water margins were really attractive and offered all the wildlife they wanted. The downside was that my relaxation was rudely disrupted! Then my ego mauled as they both outfished me!

You will love the pool Alan. Some good fish to be caught. Enjoy the day i will be around to give advice on the peg you fish. The kids always do it mate, you help them and they out fish you. But its a new angler, they might grow up to go fishing. Better than not knowing what they are doing.

Hello Alan m8 "better late than never lol" I have not seen the result yet of the His & Hers contest, but I've heard a whisper going about that his mom kicked his butt ;D PS. Any chance you could come down to the "Open" contest on Wednesday night Frank? and give me some advice on the peg I draw, as I don't seem to be able to catch 100lb of fish in 3 hours. I must be doing something wrong, or is it too much of this instead of this PPS. I'm having to get plenty of posts in at the minute as I'm out on day release from the funny farm, and those guy's in the white coats could be round at any time to cart me back off again Tight lines

I'm out on day release from the funny farm, and those guy's in the white coats could be round at any time to cart me back off again Flipping Eck Norman I thought you been at the funny farm for years! ;D I often wondered why you always so cheerful after the monthly committee meetings when the guy's in white coats are ready to get you when the meeting ended as they also remind you to take your daily doses of the medicine - the Newcastle Brown Ale ;D
