You may have the best carp rig in the world, but if the carp can suss it out then you aren't getting to be picked up. Here a I am going to tell you about making your rigs invisible as it all about little things, using clear lines, rig components with a matt finish, and blending in the lake bed are the absolutely essential.
Camouflage is the most important for all your fishing, not just in the edge. Take some time over your rig when fishing out in the lake, as they will be just visible to the carp.
Most leads, even those with a camouflage finish, benefit from being scuffed up before use. Use a bit of sandpaper, or if you are on the bank, a handful of fine gravel will suffice, to dirty up your leads.
Short braided hooklenght tend to loop up off the lake bed. So use a rig putty, or the lead from Fox/ESP/Gardner leadcore to add weight and it will ensure your hooklenght sit tight to the lake bed.
Swivels can be disguised using rig sleeves, or green/brown shrink tubing to stop them from reflecting.
Use carp leaders to disguise the line behind the rig and keep it tight to the lake bed. use clear leaders over gravel and brown leaders over silt.
In clear water without dense use a flying backlead behind your carp leader as this will fly up the line during your casting down as this will pinned the last few meters of line into the lake bed.
Use fluorocarbon hooklenghts when fish over clean gravel. Fluorocarbon is almost invisible under the water as this make great fishing over a clean lake bed
