So any chance of a pike teach-in later in the year - I think I have a lot of the gear - especially for lure fishing- and yet I have been out 2 times with the dead baits and a few times with the lures and have never managed to catch one yet....
I think I am lacking a decent venue and the watercraft, still it avoids me struggling to unhook one untill I have had some proper advice!

The trouble for me is knowing where to fish for pike myself...
I have heard mixed reports from Coombe Abbey nr Coventry, some people swear by it for pike and zander, other say the water is too large and difficult to fish?
Who knows!

Well its that time of year again. I have 13 teach ins booked so far for this season,3 all ready having been done. despite asking around I havnt been able to find a good venue in the Midlands. An ideal venue has an indoor facility for the theory/slide show part and a water on its door step for putting it in to practice. The set up at the Pool would be ideal........if there was any pike in it that is! The only available slot time wise I have now is between Christmas and the New Year. Anyone any sugestions for a venue?
If not I could always aproach LPAA to use their club house and the pool to demonstrate tactics even though there wouldnt be much point into actually trying to catch a pike there. For handling and unhooking I could always bring a dead pike.
Im open to sugestions.Over to you guys.

A few ideas:
The Birm-Worcs canal around Alvechurch - I've seen a fair number of pike in there including a few sizeable fish.
Barston Lakes - I undrestand there are a number of pike in the big lake. There's also a great club house on site!
Earlswood Windmill (Yachter) Lake - there are some pike in there; usually a pain when fishing for skimmers!

Tried the golf club but no joy.If enough are interested I will aproach LPAA about using a room in the clubhouse. We could do the indoor stuff there and I will bring a dead pike.If once again there are enough interested (I will also invite Midlands guys from AnglersNet and FishingMagic) we could make a week end of it and go to one of the near by pike waters on the Sunday? If not I will most likely be able to sort another one out down at Wraysbury.Great venue but around a two hour drive for most Midlanders. Once again over to you guys......
