Hi all Predator hunters can you tell me when lures are used what part of the year?

You can use them all year long mate! Its a lot easier to catch on them during the warmer months as the Pike are more inclined to chase.As you get more experienced though you can catch at any time as long as the conditions are right.High air pressure conditions are often the best.
If you go lure fishing remember that forceps are not much good for removing the large hooks on lures.A good set of long nosed pliers are much better.Needless to say a wire trace is also a must.
Lure fishing is a massive subject.The choice of lures alone are huge! If I get time this Autumn I will do a couple of articles on lure fishing and give a few "must have" lures with a bit of information on how,where and when to use them.
Be good if the other predator anglers now on here would also tell us about their favourite lures.
