hi julian right that a hard one. all depends on what you are fishing for and where. if the budget is tight you can pickup some great bargains fron the car boots and sunday markets. you only need the basics to start. dont forget your fishing licence. lets us know what kind of fish and venue you will fish ok mate

Julian: Just remember one thing, the best that money can buy will NEVER make you a better fisheman tomorrow than what you are today. Study and learn your quarry. Learn from others. Listen to all the tips from which you have gathered and practice the one that suits your style best. Never be afraid to ask questions as you have done here. There are a bunch of great people here on this forum that will be glad to answer any question you have. Good luck and tight lines!!!

THanks Frank and david for your feedback..I would really like to take up River fishing...THe River Stour in Bournemouth is the most popular area for fishing..I want a good fishing rod to start with..And i am aiming to save around £50.

right julian you want to save 50 pound or spend. It an expensive sport.but if you do what i said go to car boots or local paper you can pick up great bargains.you sometime see people selling tackle complete, maybe they give up, or for health reasons this would be a good buy your would have the lot all in one. Maybe some of the lads have idea's for you. all the best
