Carp anglers have been told this week they may never see the two-rod limit on licences lifted. E.A updated the current system more than two rods need another rod licence. They say Carp anglers should pay thier way. How do you feel about the current rod licence.? Do you agree that carp anglers should pay to use those extra rods, or should theybe allowed to use as many as they like. ? Your views.

Well i dont see the need to have 3 rods out. If you have two cars or two tv's you have to have 2 licences. So why not the same having more rods out. Sorry you bivvy men. pay your way.  globwhore I have a job fishing with one rod.

Frank it the same as the pikers who sometimes used who can't used more than 2 rods. Sorry Dace I have to disagreed with you there why we the carper/pikers should pay more? The national fishing licences is a joke for me! The only reason they won't do it because it will be a lost revenue for them. On a water I used to go down on the River Rother which is in Kent/Sussex border for pike fishing where no one was fishing I used to fished with 4 rods for piking. My favourite set up was a roving. A roving set up is where a actual fishing when trying to locate the feeding fish is being very boring to being hectic in a very short time. It is possible to cover hundreds of yards with a run and then, by dropping onto an accumulation of pike, have two or three runs simultaneously. How often to move was a problem and I have a rule of thumb which I apply. The smaller the river, the faster I move along it. Aswim on a small river , perhap only 20 - 40 yards wide can be fished out very quickly if you go about it. At the other extreme, a swim on a very big river of over 80 yards wide could take hours to cover properly. How far to move is always a problem and I am afraid that there is no easy answer. By skipping a section you could easily miss a stack of fish and by moving too slowly along the river you might not come to them! As with any fishing, you will have to put in a lot of effort. This being the case, it is important to enjoy what you are doing and feel confident that you are fishing the swim effectively.
