Centerpin and Barbel.

I bought a centrepin reel & barbel rod for xmas, To fish for the big barbel on the rivers around me. I live on the River Severn. And always loved using the centrepin reel.
So I am going to give it a bash,anyone got any tips regarding baits/rigs etc.

Ive only ever used a pin for float fishing Boillie.Caught the grand total of one Barbel on a float! all the rest have been on a feeder or ledger rig!

I remember that Hampton Loade was always regarded as a good place to trot for them though.If you want any info on trotting with a pin let me know but cant offer anything specific to barbel.
