Yes Steve Gardener is the best match angler in the world right now.
and that's official. Based over the last 5 years World Championships.
watched Steve fish at the Evesham Easter weekend. superb angler.
Suprised at the no 2 in the world Stuart Conway i have never come across his name before.
9th Alan Scotthorne. and Will Raison 13th both again i know great anglers.
One angler that should get back into the England team is Tom P ickering pure class angler and his results show that over many years.

Frank do you remember the days when matchs on the Avon were dominated by Ken Giles and Clive Smith? Is Stuart Conway Irish?

Yes i do Budgie 2 masters on the Avon. And i know Ken giles from my time working at Horizon Fishing Tackle, he got his rods made their. And Clive was a lovely man, probably the best angler of is time, but never made the England team.
He was a very good fisherman but go but got very overhauled by the big match situation.
Shame he died so young. Cancer from the dye he used and everyone use, at that time to get red maggots.
As for Stuart Conway i dont know mate it he is Irish.
And i have tryed searching the name to find out it it is him.
But unless he was very young in them days.
I dont think it's the same person.
Anyone know if Stuart Conway is the same person.
