I read a review that Daiwa has developed a revolutionary new gas system for poles. England international Will Raison has used the system and fished the pole at up to 25 metres without having to float it on the water. The new product is called Helium Pole Gas (HPG) and has taken 3 years to develop. It’s available later this month, it comes with seals and valves that fit inside each section prior to the gas being pumped in. When every section is full of gas the pole becomes virtually weightless, so you’ll be able to fish with much longer lengths than before, and with old inexpensive heavy poles. Sound like a good thing to me.
