I have over the past 2 years seen more Mink than ever. I've seen numerous mink over the years including an entire family of them when fishing on the Severn. They are as bold as brass, and have even walked over my tackle 2 feet away. We worry about Cormorants, what is been done about the Mink.

Dasman well you are lucky to see the minks as I have only seen them once while pike fishing at Patshull Park some years ago.
As far I know that there nothing being done about it.

My only encounter with Mink was on the canal at Kings Heath Birmingham. I'd decided to do a bit of Bloodworm and Joker fishing.Arrived on the bank early doors and set up prepared the little red men plumb up and put the first lot of feed in.
I was fishing by a barge and a little rowing boat that had water in it. Had a few small roach when I saw a little furry head pop up then another pop up.
They watch me for a couple of minutes before they decided to have some fun. One dived in a foot from my float came back with a roach about 6oz got back in the boat and wanged it back into the water and the other one dived in and got it again.
The little b's done this for a couple of hours they caught more than me which I admit is not hard but they had a better stamp of fish.
The real sad thing is I thought they were Otters only to be told by a local the true identity of the furry little bundles of fun
