Well praise the lord the winter campaign is over I,ve fished through the winter in opens and the Winter league at Lodge teams of 4. I've been cold, wet and worn out doing the rounds at Trittford,Larford and of course Lodge so I thought a trip out to a new venue would be a good start to the summer campaign. Bit of sun on the back afew fish bit of banter with the lads and as usual an open match. Manor Farm was the venue my first visit but my mates put be right I think? On arrival I was abit concerned with a brisk northerly whipping across Island putting a good chop on the water. It was cold and dull so I was not that confident of a good day. Only one mate turned up and straight away assured me that we'd have some fish. I was not expecting to win any money or come anywhere near to a place. I was right I got battered well and truly I weighed just under 30 pound everyone else had fifty plus and the lowest framer was 127lb with 167lb taking top spot. Anyway it's great fishing and Dave Bird the owner is the nicest fishery owner I have come across. It's on my venue list from now on and I hope to get abit closer with every visit The only real downer of the day was I got sunburnt I can't the beat the weather either. So give it a whirl during the summer it's great sport. Tightlines
