Annoying Problems

Help please!!!

Not been around PC problems. 

When starting up my PC (Win 2000) it tries to boot up, clicks then goes off. It then starts up again. This can happen up to 5 or 6 times before it boots up to the normal desktop.

Initially I thought I had a dodgy power cable which I have changed, no difference made
The clicking sound comes from the processor as though a switching unit inside is switching the PC off.

Any ideas please You could save my sanity.

Hi Bobby it sounds like to me your pc is overheating.
first check to see if the cpu fan is working, and give it a good clean, i use a paint brush to clean the fan.
let me know how you get on.
