After turning on my pc the other day i got an error saying 'A disk read error has occured, press Ctrl Alt and Del to restart' i have never seen this error before, and there shouldnt have been any reason for this to happen. My hard drive is a Seagate SATA 300gb drive and my M/Board is an Asus A8N Sli Deluxe. i decided to try a Windows repair installation, so i changed round the booting priority, popped in the windows disc and restarted. i pressed a key to boot from the cd, then i got a message saying it was scanning my hardware configuration... then nothing,, just a black screen. i am now getting worried, i have a lot of important information on that hard drive, and unfortuantely not back up of the drive. is there anything i can do? does anyone have any ideas or advice for me please! thanks for reading hope you can help.

Sounds to me your harddrive is on the blink. If you can get it to boot backup any files you need, and get on to Seagate to replace your knackered harddrive. they have a 5 year warrenty. detail here. 5yrwarranty.seagatestorage.com/let me know how you get on.

Hi Frank I have just clocked the New section and that Andy and Budgie are involved but I have got a clue what it's for?
I have already mention what I feel we need to communicate to the members of LPAA and the Juniors and parents.
My view about a wider appeal is that first you have to create an environment that people want to keep visiting give them a reason. Then advertise or promote the site.
I think as a relative new comer I would achive everything older then 3 months but keep it accessible. I think also we need to throw it open to the other viewers for ideas about what they want. Being realistic and looking at other Angling web sites and web sites in general it's very difficult to get massive imput there's just too much choice out there.
The big question is what are we trying to achieve?
I think we are trying to Promote LPAA to the outside world Communicate with it's members and promote Angling throughout the community. Last but not least have a bit of banter and a few laughs along the way.
Whats you view guys ideas on a post please.
