[/img]
You been at that Helium again Carpy? All the anglers listed were/are great matchmen.I didnt vote for any of them though. I would obviously vote for a specimen angler,or maybe an all rounder? but even match wise I would have to say despite watching Ken Giles a couple of times and no doubt learning from that the most influential on my breif match fishing career would have to be Ian Heaps and Dave Vincent. Certainly not as influential on match fishing in general as Ivan Marks but Ivan never spent time teaching me as many important skills as these two! Another one would have to be an old Army team mate of mine Ernie Hestletine. You would never have heard of him but he won our club "Aggregate" match every year that we was in the same club (6 years) I learned so much about river fishing by just sat watching the man.Although I managed to beat him a few times overall he was always the man.

Sorry Budgie I have little knowledge of speci anglers . I could have mentioned lots of people who over the years I have been fishing who have helped me or others to enjoy the art. I still fondly remember a guy called Tommy Harper who took me fishing as a lad . A great character who during the 50's and early 60's drag me round all the matches and gave me the desire to fish that's stayed with me all my life.

Well i went with my dad fishing. He took me down on the River Arrow 5 mins from how home, when i was about 8 years old. I had a fantastic day catching fish, only small ones, but from that day i was hooked.
