Ryton, Near Rugby & Coventry I fished here for and caught a personal best Barbel, (I am currently finding out all directions and will post them soon.) The stretch i fished has cracking shoals of Roach, Dace, Chub, occasional eels, a few small mirror & common carp and perch to 2lb's.

ijdgvsmpumc If you go past the car plant towards Ryton on Dunsmore there is a garden centre, keeping Garden Centre on Right side of road there are a few fields with access to the river on the Left. Opposite the Garden Centre access there is a gate with Plow Fishing access on it. Walk about quarter of a mile up that pathway and the river is infront with a sewage works on your right.
All that stretch has been producing barbel over 6lbs so far this season with a couple of doubles apearing to.
Bait used:
14mm Halibut Pellet on hair rig, Halibut flavoured meat, 10mm cubes, Trout pellet, Bread flake or paste. Monster Crab boilies, Trout boilies.
That is what i have used so far and caught on all. I tend to find that the barbel shy away from some baits if over fed into a swim, so it helps to have a few on hand.

Nice Barbel you have caught and a new personal best. Hope you will get another personal best as this time of year (September/October) is the best time for getting the better quality barbel
