Hi there, my name is Trev, and I have just started fishing again after a break of about twelve years. I live in Redditch. I haven't actually been fishing yet, but I'll keep you posted

Hi Trev welcome to the forum. Get back on the waters mate, 12 years without fishing. Me and Andrew both live in redditch, and I'm sure we could recommend a good venue for you to try. GET BACK INTO IT. and let use know how you get on. If we can help in anyway please ask. Carpy

Hello Trev and welcome to the UK Anglers Retreat. A break of 12 years without fishing? hmmm sound like you got a lot of catching up to do! ;D
Yes as Carpy says let us know how you get on when the next time you go fishing - we love to hear angling stories

I thought that I would give Ipsley pool a try, as it is close to me. Any thoughts? Trev

Trev, Ispley pool is known for a few carp, perch roach and most of all, a few pike! It not that easy now as the recent cold weather have put the fish off feeding now.
Not trying to encourage you to go to Ispley Pool but I think you be better off going to Arrow Valley Lake intead, if you want some decent fish.

Thanks Andrew, but the lake costs money, Ipsley is free, so I think I'll wait till the weather comes out of this cold snap.

Ok fair enough. The other best bet which is also free fishing as well if you don't mind going through the rough over growths as you need to get to some of the deep holes in various place is a bit of the river arrow as i seen some odd decent chub around the pound and a half to a three pounder.
Best of luck if you're going this weekend
