Went over to the manmade this morning with Frank and hooked myself a Pike at last. It was a lovely morning mist on the lake not too cold, we both lobbed in our deadbaits and had nothing for a couple of hours then I put on my favorite spinner(well it is now) and bobs your aunties livin lover I hooked one after a couple of casts. We stayed for a couple more hours and nothing else came our way, but a least we know they do take the bait occasionally over there.

Nice one mate. Looks like you had fun. Beats stopping in the house looking after the kids.

Is that the same "Manmade" that was/is at the back of the crematorium?

No Budgie the pool at the back of the crematorium, is the Old Forge Mill. Is is not to far away from the Arrow Valley Lake. Top middle of the pic is the bottom half of the Arrow Valley Lake. Ang right in the middle of the pic shows the manmade pool.

I think Budgie is referring to a different manmade pool which did exists in the middle of the 70's which was roughly in the area of the Abbey Golf Course but that have been open up into small lake.
Carpy/Dave Manmade lake is also known as Ispley Pool.

Was there another one at the back of the fire station before the bypass was built? I am not sure if it still there if you think what I am thinking.
We went up there one day (when on leave from your army days) to see if we could get any livebait but when we got there is was more like a rubbish tip/pond

Frank and I trundled over to the Manmade (Ipsley Pool) again this morning and after about half an hour of no fish we were going to chuck the towel in but I had one on a baby pike wobbly lure. In the end I had three on the wobbly one and one on a deadbait sprat with parsley(thats all they had in morrisons) ;D. All in all a good mornings fishing.

Cheers Andrew, It was a good morning, shame about the rain but it never got too heavy and we were well wrapped up. Might go over again in a couple of weeks.
